Volunteer Role: Online Retail Volunteer (eBay and Vinted)
Volunteer Manager: e-commerce Manager and retail management team
Location: Thorp Arch Warehouse
Every item you list on eBay or Vinted helps raise vital funds to support Martin House’s work.
This is a key position supporting the work of our online retail team. We often receive donations that may have more value when being listed online, some of which are collectible and valuable. This interesting role will help to increase income through our retail work.
The role includes:
- Inspecting and researching donated items that may be collectible
- Valuing and pricing items
- Helping items find their new home.
- Photographing items and listing them on eBay and Vinted
- Parcelling items for dispatch
Commitment:
Whether you can spare a few hours a week or a full day, your time will make a genuine difference
Volunteer profile:
- Enthusiastic and reliable.
- Comfortable using a smartphone/ tablet or computer (or willing to learn).
- Interested in fashion, collectibles, homeware or online shopping.
- Passionate about supporting a great cause.
Support you will receive from Martin House, and your involvement in our organisation includes:
- regular contact with the manager responsible for the area with which you will volunteer
- you will gain valuable experience and understanding of the services Martin House offers
- you will be part of the work of a highly regarded UK charity
- we will reimburse reasonable expenses
- full training and supervision will be given as appropriate for the volunteering role
- volunteers are invited to attend hospice-wide events which include other areas of our work
- volunteers are invited to join the Martin House Volunteer Forum (more information available on request)
- we ask all our volunteers to follow Martin House policies and procedures
- we will need you to complete documentation relating to the role
