Frequently asked questions

We have a music room, play room, sensory room, art area and multimedia recreation room (The Den).  Our beautiful grounds are carefully tended by our team of volunteers with an extensive wheelchair accessible play area.

We stagger admission times to avoid clusters of families arriving at the same time. We have bookable slots at 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm. Discharge times are 1pm Monday to Saturday and 2pm on a Sunday.

We provide bedding and towels. Families need to bring clothes, toiletries and all the equipment, feed and medicines required for the stay. All medicines should be clearly labelled and in original packets.

Our end of life rooms are self-contained rooms that parents can stay in after their child has passed away. The child will stay in a special room adjoined to the parents so they feel close to them. A child can be cared for after death for up to five days, giving family and friends the opportunity to visit. Our staff are also on hand to help the family with any funeral arrangements.

Smoking is not permitted within Martin House or Whitby Lodge. A gazebo is in the grounds for those who wish to smoke.
