Martin House Children’s Hospice is looking for a passionate, committed and values driven clinical professional to join our Board of Trustees. We are specifically seeking someone with a strong clinical background, relevant professional qualifications and experience who can bring their expertise and insight to our Board.
This is an exciting opportunity to use your clinical knowledge and leadership experience to help guide Martin House as we continue to develop and grow following our transformational BUILD project.
As a Trustee, you will play a vital role in shaping our strategy, supporting strong governance and helping to ensure we continue to deliver outstanding specialist care, compassion and support to children, young people and families across Yorkshire. You will work alongside a dedicated Board and Executive Team, bringing a clinical perspective, constructive challenge and informed thinking to key decisions.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who shares our values of Compassion, Respect, Excellence and Integrity, and who is committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.
This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute your clinical expertise at Board level, broaden your leadership and governance experience, and be part of a forward thinking charity that is here when families need us most.
Location
The majority of the work will take place at Martin House Hospice, but representation and ambassadorial activity could take place anywhere within the charity’s catchment area.
Commitment
There are four Board meetings per year. In addition, an away-day is usually held for strategic planning and board development. There are currently two standing committees which meet 4 times a year, plus occasional working groups. Board members are expected to serve on one of these committees and to take part in other activities from time to time, e.g. recruitment of senior staff.
