Peter is swapping Formula 1 for the London Marathon

Peter is taking on his first London Marathon for us and told us about what he’s been doing to prepare for race day, as well as what inspired him to fundraise for us.

Here’s what Peter had to say:

Why did you choose to do the London Marathon in support of us?

‘My sister Heather came to Martin House during her last few years with us.  Everyone took such great care of both her and our family during this time, for which I’ll be ever grateful, so this is one way give a little back.’

Where is your favourite place to run?

‘I’ve been running a lot around central London when I’m at home, taking in some of the landmarks on my various routes, and then I also run the Formula 1 tracks when I’m away with work.’

Favourite running music?

‘Green Day.’

Top marathon training tip?

‘Everyone will be offering you advice on what you need to do, but you have to find your own pace and do what’s right for you.’

What will you be having for your pre-race breakfast?

‘Yoghurt with granola, berries and fruit — and plenty of it!’

Have you ever run a marathon before?

‘No, first time. Hopefully not my last time!’

You can support Peter and donate to his JustGiving page.
