Meet the National Three Peaker…

Name: Adam Curtis

Why did you choose to do the National Three Peaks in support of Martin House?
My wife and I spent time at Martin House after we lost our newborn son in 2018. The amazing team there gave us incredible support and precious time with our boy which we’re eternally grateful for so I’m doing this challenge to try give something back and help raise awareness for the vital work MH does.

Where is your favourite place to train?
Basically anywhere.

What’s your favourite training music/podcast?
Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster or anything metal for more physical training.

What top training tips do you have for someone thinking of doing this next year?
Get outside and get moving… you can’t start training early enough. Even if you’ve good gym-fitness, it’s not the same as being ‘match-fit’ so make sure you get some long-distance walking in as well as lots of leg sessions in the gym.

What are your favourite snacks you’ll be taking with you?
A selection of high fat/protein Huel bars and a mix of milk and dark chocolate.

Have you ever done anything like this before?
Yes, although 20 years ago!

What’s your Just Giving page so people can support you?
https://www.justgiving.com/page/adam-curtis-national-three-peaks

What would you say to people considering signing up next year?
If you’re considering doing this challenge for Martin House, just do it… sure, it’s a tough challenge but the guidance from Overlimits has been excellent (they also kindly offer training walks) and at the end of the day, you’re only out there for 24hrs but whatever fundraising you can do will last so much longer for MH. Good luck!
