Volunteer in your local shop

Many of our 400 volunteers give their time in one of our retail outlets across the region which just couldn’t function without their willing help.

Working alongside the shop manager, you’ll become part of the team which generates as much income as possible to support children, young people and families who need our support.

Our volunteers in our shops help with:

  • ensuring quality customer service
  • introducing Gift Aid to donors
  • promoting the Martin House lottery
  • sorting and steaming clothes
  • serving customers
  • housekeeping and merchandising

Volunteers support us by donating one or two mornings or afternoons per week but two hours once a week is also valuable. 

I'm interested. How do I become a charity shop volunteer?

It couldn’t be easier. Simply pop into or phone your local shop and arrange to meet up with the manager for an informal chat about the role. Alternatively, you can register your interest online and our volunteer coordinator will be in touch.
