Christmas only started for Mareyah’s family when they came to the Martin House Christmas party, where they could enjoy all the entertainment on offer and see Santa as a family. Mareyah, who had genetic disorder Edwards Syndrome, was supported by Martin House throughout her life. She died in November 2022, aged seven.

The last Christmas party she had at Martin House, we had real snow. They make it so special. The memories are there, they’ll always be there. I can’t find the right words, but it’s a feeling it gave me. And it was an amazing feeling."
