We Did It! Together We Raised Over £400,000 in 36 Hours

In just 36 hours, our incredible community came together for our 36 Hour Give to Raise the Roof! We set out with the ambitious goal of raising £360,000 and thanks to your kindness, generosity, and belief in our work, we didn’t just meet it, we smashed it!

You Made a Difference

From the very first moments of the campaign, your support poured in. In fact, within the first 10 minutes, an incredible £30,000 was donated. And thanks to the generosity of our incredible match-funders, every pound up to £180,000 was doubled, meaning your donations went even further.

By the time the campaign closed at 8pm on Monday, 29 September, you’d helped us raise a remarkable £409,015 for children, young people, and families who rely on Martin House.

Why This Matters

Every penny you gave is helping to build a brighter future. The money raised is going straight towards THE BUILD, our £21.9 million redevelopment project that will transform the hospice.

Because of you, we’re closer to creating:
• a dedicated teenage zone
• a hydrotherapy pool
• and an education centre

Together, we’re not just funding buildings, we’re providing dignity, comfort, and joy for the children and families who need us most.

A Shared Celebration

We were not alone in this journey. From the Emmerdale cast, Leeds United, and Sir Gareth Southgate, to our charity ambassador Christine Talbot, the Mayor of Wetherby and the wonderful Duchy Darlings – so many people helped spread the word. And of course, our headline sponsor HARIBO was right beside us, cheering the campaign on.

But most of all – it was you. Whether you were a Champion, donated, fundraised, shared our posts, or simply told a friend about the campaign, you were part of something extraordinary.

The Heart of It All

Martin House nurse, Linsay, signed up to be a Champion in memory of her brother Josh who died at the hospice in 2018. As a Champion, Linsay raised an incredible £9,641, here’s what Linsay had to say about why this matters.

“I chose to become a Champion as a way of giving a little back to Martin House as our family were so well supported when my brother approached the end of his life. I also work as a nurse on the care team and see the amazing care that happens in the hospice every day, but we have so much potential to do more – with the right facilities.

A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone that donated, liked and shared my posts. I am overwhelmed by your generosity and kindness. Because of you we can continue to provide the very best care to our children, young people and families but now in the most amazing building.”

Thank You

We couldn’t have done this without you. Your support means more than we can say, and together we’ve taken a huge step towards completing THE BUILD. Click here to find out more and how you can keep making a difference.
