The BIG Give Challenge: Give something up this February

It’s February, the month of love, lent and challenges! This year, why not commit to something BIG and join The BIG Give?

For 28 days, we’re asking you to give something up and give something back — all to help us fund THE BUILD, to transform Martin House Children’s Hospice. Whether it’s coffee, chocolate, social media, or streaming services, will help us get a step closer to our £2.1m fundraising target?

What Is The BIG Give?

The BIG Give is your chance to make a BIG impact by doing something simple — giving something up for a month. It’s about turning personal challenges into powerful change. And the best part? All money raised will help us build a new purpose built hospice, where children with life-shortening conditions and their families can find comfort, care, and space to make precious memories.

What will YOU give up?

Think about the little things you could live without for 28 days. Could you…
Say goodbye to your daily coffee run? ☕
Put down the chocolate or sweets? 🍫
Log out of social media for a digital detox? 📱
Wave goodbye to Friday night takeaways? 🍕
Avoid your streaming service for a month? 🎬
The options are endless—and the more creative, the better! Whether you’re giving up a habit or a treat, every small sacrifice will help families facing incredibly tough times.

Why Take Part in The BIG Give?

1. Make a BIG impact
By giving something up, you’ll help us take one step closer to funding our BIG project—THE BUILD. This new space will provide vital care and support to children with life-shortening conditions, giving them and their families a place to feel safe, loved, and cared for.
2. Challenge yourself
How hard could it be to give up chocolate for a month? You’ll never know until you try! It’s a fun way to test yourself while knowing you’re doing it for a great cause. Or why not take on The BIG Give with your friends, family, or work colleagues? Giving something up together can help you stay motivated and add an element of fun to the challenge. Could your office give up shop bought coffees or lunchtime sandwiches for the month? Every small sacrifice can add up to something BIG.
3. Raise awareness and inspire others
By sharing your journey on social media, you’ll inspire your friends, family, and followers to get involved too. Use the hashtags #GiveUpToGiveBack and #TheBIGGive and tag us at @martinhousech so we can cheer you on!
