Amelia’s Story
Amelia and her mum Shabnam say their lives would be incomplete without Martin House.
They’ve been coming to the hospice since Amelia was six. Born with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and later diagnosed with a life-shortening condition, Amelia requires full-time care. Despite the challenges, Amelia loves baking, music and being the centre of attention at Martin House.
Shabnam says:
“Martin House has been part of us throughout our difficult journey. I’ve never felt on my own. They look after Amelia, but they’ve also got me in their minds. They let parents step out of their caring role and just enjoy being a mum or dad.”
Martin House Children’s Hospice provides family-led hospice care, free of charge, for children and young people with life-shortening conditions in our communities.
We believe in care that respects and reflects every family’s culture, values and faith. That’s why we work closely with Bradford’s communities to make our services accessible and inclusive for everyone.
We look forward to welcoming you to this special event. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the vital work of Martin House in Bradford, connect with our team, and discover how you can make a lasting impact in your community. We look forward to seeing you there!
