Uncle Mick's Bike Ride

09 May 2020 - 8:00 AM  |  Leeds Liverpool Canal

A cycle ride along the banks of the canal from Liverpool to Leeds over two days featuring 127.5 miles of fantastic scenery incorpoating 91 locks!

In 2008 Mick's nephew Alex was diagnosed with Fredereich's Ataxia, a life-limiting condition that affects the central nervous system, causing complications such as poor muscle growth, curvature of the spine and fatigue.

Mick told us "We wanted to find a unique event that was fairly manageable but big enough to attract attention.  I'd cycled the route for fun before, but never for a reason.  Alex is the inspiration I have to keep on trying to organise this event, year on year. It's about taking part and supporting the cause in any way you can, whether that's by cycling 10 or 100 miles. There are so many ways you can join in."

The event is open to everybody, regardless of fitness level or how much you think you will accomplish. Tag teams (if you and a friend wish to split the distance) and corporate entries are more than welcome.
