Children's Hospice Week 2019

About Children's Hospice Week

Children’s Hospice Week is a dedicated week in the charity calendar (17th-23rd June) raising awareness of children's hospice and palliative care services across the UK. This year, the theme for Children's Hospice Week is 'moments that matter'.

Time is very precious for families who visit Martin House and memory making is a vital part of our work. From using arts and crafts to create beautiful canvasses with handprints and footprints, to memorable trips out, visiting local attractions with the assistance of our care team, making moments that matter and are memorable to the families in need of our care and support is at the heart of everything we do.

The Big Bake for Martin House

At Martin House, our talented chefs and kitchen volunteers bake tray upon tray of delicious treats for families to enjoy, and we are often told that our cakes at Martin House are a highlight of families' visits!

For Children's Hospice Week 2019, we'd love for you to join in by hosting your very own bake sale of delectable goodies, as part of 'The Big Bake'. Hold your bake sale between the 17th-23rd June and raise as much as you can for children and young people with life-shortening conditions who rely upon our services. This could be in your workplace, at your school, college or university, or as part of a community group.

By joining in with Martin House this Children's Hospice Week, you will be helping us to share our mission: that every child should have access to palliative care whenever, and wherever, they need it.
