ICT and Facilities Volunteer


The volunteer role: ICT and Facilities Admin Volunteer
Reports to: ICT Trainer & Administrator
Location: Martin House Hospice, Boston Spa, LS23 6TX

Martin House is currently in the process of going paper-light, and as a result, various old paper records need their data entering into new computer systems. This is a key position supporting the work of our ICT Team and Facilities Team to help with the implementation of new software.

Overall, the role includes:
  • Imputing data into our new ICT and Facilities Databases, such as PAT testing results and weekly vehicle inspection results
  • The scanning and indexing of paperwork into our ICT and Facilities system
  • Shredding old paperwork once it has been entered into the system
  • Assisting other departments with their scanning and shredding in due course.
Commitment: Preferably at least one day a week 10am to 4pm (Exc. Tuesday) albeit half a day could also work.

Volunteer profile:
  • Basic understanding of how to use a computer (specific system training will be provided on first day)
  • Organisational skills
  • A flexible and positive approach
  • Adaptability to the role’s requirements
Full training and supervision will be given on the use of our systems. If working over the lunchtime period, lunch will be provided. Volunteers are invited to attend an annual hospice-wide training day which includes other areas of our work.
