Social Media Volunteer

Purpose of the role: To communicate key aspects of the Martin House Makers project on social media platforms in line with organisational ethos and operation 
Location: Flexible – will involve travel to different sites

Project Aim: To upcycle donated goods to sell across our network of charity shops and at fairs across the region

Hours: Flexible depending on availability. Probably a minimum of 4 hours a week but potentially spread across the week

Responsible to: Retail Pop Up Project Manager

Main Tasks:
  • Facilitating communication across the pop up project via social media, YouTube, newsletters and other marketing tools
  • Gathering stories and pictures to help promote the project and products
  • Sharing those stories and pictures across FB, Instagram, Twitter etc.
  • Monitoring and managing social media accounts for MH Makers and liaising with Project Mgr and marketing team as necessary
  • Ensuring all promotional material is in line with MH policies and ethos
  • Writing copy for newsletters, leaflets and other promotional materials as required
  • Devising and providing input into current and future communication and marketing strategies for the project
  • Working closely with the MH marketing team

Relevant Skills & Experience:
  • Knowledge of social media and how these are used to best effect
  • Knowledge of marketing and promotion an advantage
  • Writing skills
  • Photography and eye for visuals
  • Ability to work with others

Training will be given as required to enable the tasks to be carried out
