Pop Up Volunteer

Purpose of the role: To contribute to the organisation and management of pop-up retail spaces throughout Yorkshire and will include attendance at festivals and markets to sell and raise awareness of the work conducted by Martin House
Location: Flexible – some outdoor and site specific work

Project Aim: To upcycle donated goods to sell across our network of charity shops and at fairs across the region

Hours: Flexible – but likely to be weekends and daytime

Responsible to: Retail Pop Up Project Manager

Main Tasks:
  • Assisting with (or managing) set up and set down of pop up shop – could include erecting & putting down gazebos, trestle tables etc.
  • Setting up stalls – including laying out stock, replenishment
  • Taking money/cash handling
  • Dealing with customers & supporters
  • Could involve driving van to and from events if willing/able
  • Liaising with event organisers as necessary 

Relevant Skills & Experience:
  • An eye for merchandising & layout
  • Ability to lift and carry ideally
  • Sales skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team
  • Common sense
  • Ability to think on your feet! 

Training will be given as required to enable the tasks to be carried out
