The volunteer role: Friends' Group Member 
Reports to: Regional Fundraiser 
Location: In the local community

We are looking for volunteers to join fundraising groups across North, East and West Yorkshire and create Friends of Martin House in your local community. Our groups are dedicated to raising vital funds to ensure Martin House can continue to support children and young people with life limiting conditions, along with their families.
Fundraising Groups consist of a Fundraising Group Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and a number of members. Please do get in touch if you would like further information or are interested in any of these roles.
This is a key position supporting the work of our regional fundraisers within our fundraising department. The role includes:
  • Helping to organise collections, events and other fundraising activities in your local community
  • Helping to promote the work of the charity and encourage support from the local community
  • Regularly attending and participating in group meetings
  • Completing agreed action points following meetings
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to supporting the team for a minimum of 6 months
  • Attending group meetings regularly (often monthly depending on activity)

  • Honest and reliable with a genuine interest to support the work of Martin House
Full training and supervision will be given as required and appropriate for the role.
  • Volunteers are invited to attend an annual hospice-wide training day which includes other areas of our work.
  • Volunteers are invited to join the Martin House Volunteer Forum (more information available on request).
We ask all our staff and volunteers to follow Martin House policies and procedures.
We will need you to complete documentation relating to the role (including driver documentation if you choose to drive whilst volunteering).
