Emeritus Professor Patricia McKinney

Tricia's position with Leeds University as an Emeritus Professor of Paediatric Epidemiology means that she has a background in research on improving the health and care of children with a variety of serious conditions. As a researcher she has worked with Martin House for many years and on the Board of Trustees Tricia currently represents the Martin House Research Centre based at the University of York. This group aims to establish a portfolio of research that will improve the lives of children and  young people with life limiting illness and their families and carers along with the staff who deliver their care.
Although retired, volunteering as a patient representative in the NHS means Tricia stays involved with current trends and practice particularly involving children. Her six grandchildren keep her feet on the ground and constantly remind her of the importance of ensuring that every child deserves ‘the best’, whatever their circumstances.
