Retail Donation and Shop Distribution Centre Manager

Hours of work: 35 hours per week over 7 days, with some flexibility to cover occasional events and sessions at weekends and in the evening

Place of work: Martin House Retail Hub and in the Community

Martin House has been caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from West, North and East Yorkshire for more than 30 years. Every year we care for more than 420 families at our hospice in Boston Spa, in hospitals and in their own homes. We also support more than 150 bereaved families each year.

We are seeking a committed individual to join our growing retail team and take on the role of Retail Donation and Shop Distribution Centre Manager.

The role will involve day to day running of our Retail Hub and Donation Station, and maintaining the physical condition of the Donation Station and Stock Storage, as well as managing volunteers to complete daily deliveries to shops and collections from donors.

Our ideal candidate will
  • Be dedicated, compassionate, work in collaboration, be open, honest, flexible, caring and deliver high standards in everything you do.
  • Want to work in a well-established, award winning hospice, working as part of the multidisciplinary team to support the children, young people and their families from the time of their referral through to end of life care.
  • Have a full current and clean driving license and experience of driving a van.
  • Have experience of working in a warehouse environment and managing a team of volunteers or staff.
  • Have a relevant qualification in Health and Safety.
