Martin House has been caring for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from West, North and East Yorkshire for more than 30 years. Every year we care for more than 420 families at our hospice in Boston Spa, in hospitals and in their own homes. We also support more than 150 bereaved families each year.

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Director of Clinical Services to join our amazing and award winning team.

The Director of Clinical Services is accountable for the strategic development and operational management and leadership of the whole care team.  As the registered manager of the hospice, you will ensure that all regulatory, legal and professional requirements are met by the hospice, and will strive for the very highest standards of care at all times. You will be expected to provide strategic direction in relation to the entire range of services for children, young people and their families. Ensure that Martin House is at the forefront of the development of palliative care for children and young adults both locally and nationally and work in close partnership with the Chief Executive, Strategic Leadership Team and the Board of Trustees to achieve the aims of Martin House as well as providing advice and guidance on clinical matters.

Our ideal candidate
  • Is RSCN, RN (child), NMC, GMC or HCPC registered
  • Has substantial experience as a senior manager in a healthcare setting
  • Has substantial experience of budget planning and effective financial management
  • Has experience of reviewing services and new service development
  • Has experience of strategic and operational planning
  • Has experience of managing a large, multi-disciplinary team
  • Is fully committed to the vision, mission and values of Martin House
