Chief executive joins Hospice UK board

20 February 2020
Martin House chief executive Martin Warhurst has been appointed to the board of trustees of Hospice UK.

Hospice UK is the national charity supporting hospice care. It champions and supports the work of more than 200 member organisations providing hospice care across the UK, to help them provide the highest quality of care to people with terminal or life limiting conditions, and support their families.

Martin said: “It’s a great honour to be asked to join the board of Hospice UK as a trustee. This is good news for Martin House as it allows us to influence on a national level, with the opportunity to be a part of the organisation who lobbies government on our behalf.”

Martin will serve on the board for a four-year term, and can serve up to two consecutive terms.

Among the work of Hospice UK is working with government to influence policy, providing grants to fund innovative new hospice projects, helping to improve end of life care in hospitals, and widening access to hospice care. It also provides training and support to its member organisations.
