Christine Talbot

Christine Talbot has been co-presenter of ITV Yorkshire's Calendar  for almost 13 years - more than ten alongside Duncan Wood, making them the longest serving partnership in ITV regional news.  It's a job that has taken her all over the world - particularly for her series Christine's Big Trip in which she interviewed ex-pats from all over the region who had made new lives in far flung places abroad.

During her career she has interviewed all sorts of people from  showbusiness stars and several Prime Ministers, but it is the ordinary people with extraordinary stories to tell that she enjoys the most.   She recently made a cameo appearance as herself in Emmerdale during the soap's anniversary siege programme. Christine lives in Wetherby, close to the Hospice and loves being able to support it.
“I have covered many stories about Martin House during my years as the presenter of ITV Calendar - and that gave me an opportunity to get to know the amazing people who run it and stay there.  It also happens to be on my doorstep and as a Wetherby resident I know how close Martin House is to this community, as well as to the wider area. It is a place of sanctuary, joy, love and compassion and despite the sadness of the situations being endured by its visitors it is a happy and I inspirational environment.  I'm so proud to have been asked to be an Ambassador for the Hospice and look forward to being part of a very special and vitally important place. “
