Senior Clinical Psychologist

Closing Date: 04/10/2019

Due to the retirement of the previous post holder an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Clinical Psychologist with an interest in palliative care to come and be part of the Martin House team.

Martin House offers specialist respite and end of life care for children and young people from across the region with life limiting conditions, delivering family centred, holistic care both here at Martin House and into the community. The hospice is in Boston Spa, Wetherby and we care for children and young people from across West, North and East Yorkshire.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with children and adults to be able to offer psychology support to the child/young person and any of the family members as required. This would involve 1 to1, group and family interventions and also indirect care by advising and supporting all members of the Martin House care team, medical staff and bereavement team in the work that they do.

As the only Psychologist within the organisation this person would be the psychology resource for management, staff and the wider MDT team offering advice, teaching, mentoring and supervision as needed. There would be opportunities to link with the Martin House Research Centre at York University to be involved with relevant research projects in palliative care. There will also be personal clinical supervision and CPD opportunities.

If you are an excellent communicator, motivated, hardworking, flexible and a good team player then this is great opportunity to work in one of the leading children’s hospices in the country.

The post is part time (21-24 hours per week) over a minimum of 3 days. Some degree in flexibility of working days would be an advantage.
