Head of Events and Supporter Engagement

Reporting to the Director of Income Generation, you will have a dynamic and proactive approach to lead the Events & Supporter Engagement Fundraising Team in delivering the strategy and take responsibility for ensuring that income is maximised. You will be part of our vision to be able to provide palliative care to every child and young person that needs it.


What does the role involve? 
  • Identifying opportunities for growth in existing areas but also identifying and developing new opportunities for growth within income generation.
  • Deliver against fundraising strategy and secure income from various sources to include: Regional Fundraising, Events, Lottery & Legacy
  • Effectively lead, inspire, develop and manage the Supporter Engagement fundraising team to enable them to achieve key objectives
  • Devise and implement new policies and procedures across fundraising to include supporter journeys

 
Who are we looking for?

To be considered for this fantastic opportunity you should have a strong track record in working at a senior level leading a successful, high-performing fundraising team. You must have proven experience in setting and managing significant income and expenditure budgets and experience of achieving/ exceeding ambitious targets. An inspirational leader and communicator, you must have experience of dealing with senior level contacts both internally and externally, and possess the ability to contribute to the charity at a strategic level. The role requires excellent knowledge of contemporary fundraising techniques and will need someone with the confidence to be innovative and entrepreneurial. Of paramount importance is a proven record of managerial success, and a wealth of ambition and determination.

The Martin House Fundraising team are based at the Hospice in Wetherby but are expected to be out in the community that they serve. They are expected to travel extensively within the defined geographical area for their role. You must have a full UK driving licence at the time of application and the work will also require some unsocial and out of hours working. You should have full access to a vehicle.
