IT firm donate iPads to Martin House eBay team

15 November 2018
A Leeds IT firm is helping Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People raise more money to support its work.

Eden, based in Leeds, has donated six iPad Mini 2 tablets to Martin House, which it will use to list items online as part of its eBay sales.

Stephanie Rimmington, head of retail at Martin House, said: “These iPads will make a big difference to us, it will enable us to expand our eBay operation, which we use to sell more valuable and unusual items that are donated to us.

“We’re very grateful to Eden for supporting us in such a practical way. We want to make the most we can from every donation we receive to our shops, and being able to sell more through eBay will help us to do that.”

It costs £8 million a year to run Martin House, with more than £1 million of that raised by its 12 charity shops and furniture warehouse.

Eden, which provides smartphone, tablet and laptop repairs, sells refurbished devices and provides IT and telecom services to businesses, is supporting Martin House as its charity of the year.

Andy Payne, director of Eden, said: “After seeing the work Martin House does, and how reliant it is on donations to provide amazing services for children and young people, as a local business we are pleased to support Martin House as our charity of the year.

“We are proud to donate the iPads to assist with its retail operations to maximise its fundraising opportunities.”
