A Place to Be is the story of the development and day-to-day life of one of the world's first childrens hospices. The book charts the first 21 years, from the dreams of the founders to the developments of today.

It paints a picture of what Martin House offers children and their families, as well as giving a flavour of the inspirational place it has become.

It is a moving story told in words and pictures, by representatives of the team, together with the children and families. The book helps people understand the apparent paradox of a children's hospice - a place filled with such joy and life as well as such deep sorrow.
