Dragon Boats make a splash for Martin House.
Thirty teams and hundreds of spectators turned out for the first ever Martin House Dragon Boat Race in Roundhay Park, Leeds on Bank 
Holiday Monday.
Teams were entered from a whole host of local businesses including six from the Yorkshire Building Society, HSBC and three from our event sponsors the Coach and Horses pub.
Each race involved teams of ten paddlers in a 30 foot boat, kept in time by a drummer, and on course by a professional at the helm, frantically making their way down a 200 metre course. Prizes were awarded for best fancy dress, the top fundraisers and the fastest teams. The top team on the day was one of the Coach & Horses own crew - The Coach & Horses Elite.
So far the event has brought in over £25,000 with even more sponsorship money still to be received.
