Support Groups

The serious illness of a child has enormous implications for the whole family. We therefore offer a range of additional facilities for families who use Martin House.

Parents' Group
Three times a year there is the option for parents to meet together with other parents at Martin House. The day is a mixture of information sharing, support, and relaxing and enjoyable activities.

Siblings' Group
'Time 4 Us' is the name of the group for brothers and sisters. It meets four times throughout the year. The days are organised specifically for the siblings around fun-filled activities.

Bereaved Parents Group
A programme of six days spread throughout a year to enable parents who have lost their child to come together to explore and share their experiences.

Bereaved Siblings Group
A structured group for siblings whose brothers or sisters have died. This group meets in parallel with the Parents' Group. It is an opportunity for the children to share their experiences through play and activities.

Bereaved Grandparents Group
An day for grandparents to come together to meet and talk about their experiences and those of their children and grand children.

Asian mums' Day
One day a year to give the mothers of asian children a chance to come together informally.

Focus Groups
Parents from different geographical areas across our catchment area are invited to express their views on the care and support provided and help us to identify ways in which we can improve our services.
