Skipton Shop Reopens with New Look

25 May 2016
On Saturday 21st May, Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People reopened its Skipton shop with a brand new look. Staff and volunteers were on hand to welcome eager customers into the charity’s store on Sheep Street following a full refurbishment earlier this month.

The shop will now be open seven days a week from 9.30am until 4.30pm Monday to Saturday. Local bargain hunters can browse from a wide range of quality, preloved stock with a proportion of their purchases going towards supporting children and young people with life-limiting illnesses across the region.

The shop refit precedes the opening of the hospice’s twelfth retail outlet in Garforth, which is due to open next month. Retail Manager Stephanie Rimmington said: “We are delighted to present our new look shop to the Skipton community and hope that it will continue to build support in the local area. We need to raise in excess of £5.5 million each year to provide our services to families across North, West and East Yorkshire. Our retail outlets are a vital source of this income and so anything local people can do to support our Sheep Street shop, whether through donating, shopping or volunteering, will make a big difference to what we can do for our families.”

Local people can find out more about Martin House’s high street shops, and how to volunteer, at www.martinhouse.org.uk or by contacting the retail team on 01937 844 569. Supporters are encouraged to drop off donations of clothes, books and small household items at the shop during opening hours.
