It’s a team effort for charity at Hunters Estate Agents!

30 January 2014
Martin House Events Manager, Caroline Hudson, was delighted to receive a cheque for £5,000 from Martin Robinson, Director Hunters Estate Agents and Stephen Plews, Martin House Trustee, this week.  Hunters have supported Martin House for over 12 years and have taken part in numerous fundraising events over the years, including the Dragon Boat Race, Charity Balls, the Great North Run and charity golf days. Hunters offices across York, Wetherby, Harrogate and Leeds have also undertaken office-based fundraising activities for the hospice too.

The £5,000 raised was sponsorship for the Hunters team for completing the first ever Yorkshire Marathon in October last year.  The team consisted of Martin, Stephen and Kevin Hollinrake, Hunters Director, with all three runners completing the gruelling 26 miles.

Martin Robinson said “I know the difference that this money will make to the children and their families who use Martin House.  It enables the parents to experience a break from the reality of caring for a child with a life-limiting illness 24 hours a day, knowing their child is being expertly and lovingly cared for, and that brief respite is so important. We are pleased to have been able to support Martin House for many years and look forward to raising more money in the future.”

Caroline Hudson says “Well done to the team of runners and thank to all of the staff at Hunters for your ongoing support.  We rely heavily on donations to raise the money that we need to keep Martin House running. Annually we support 340 children and their families, and 100 bereaved families across the Yorkshire region.   Many thanks from everyone at the hospice.”
