Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People this week officially opened its new shop in Garforth, with ITV Yorkshire Calendar presenter and Martin House Ambassador, Christine Talbot, on hand to cut the red ribbon.
The Main Street shop is the hospice’s twelfth retail outlet and forms part of the charity’s strategic plan to expand its retail operations, helping to fund the resources needed to care for more children and young people with life-limiting illnesses across West, North and East Yorkshire.
Martin House Retail and Development Manager, Stephanie Rimmington, said: “We are lucky to have a lot of support in the Garforth area and the local community has already made us feel very welcome. We hope that over the coming months the shop will attract lots of interest from shoppers and willing volunteers alike, and provide an additional regular income to help us support more families across the region.”
Volunteers are required to help with the day-to-day running of the shop, assisting with pricing, sorting stock, customer service and supporting the shop manager. Those interested should contact Rachel Sherbourne on 01937 845045 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
